A friend forwarded an email from a notable (and perhaps notorious) comedian, writer, podcaster, news journalist and news commentator:

Hey, I'm lookin' for left-wing comedians to sometimes do spots on my shows.

I figured why not? So I sent in this bit I did at a fundraising event.

He passed, but offered some constructive feedback:

I'm looking for someone with a little more experience, but you definitely have something. Keep at it. My only feedback would just be to know your stuff so well that there's essentially no pauses. It's weird but just a moment of a comic going "Umm" and trying to think what's coming next can get a crowd to jump off the train (or bus or EV).

OK, this is encouraging! Now if I can just get an um-ectomy…

I know the answer. Practice. And focus!
